The Starkey Laboratories started in the year 1967 when William Austin founded the Professional Hearing Aid Service. The Environmental Adaptation technology allows seamless transitions from one sound environment to the next. There is also the Directional Speech Detector that continuously monitors environments and adjusts the Starkey hearing aid for clearer speech. This technology detects any presence of an analog telephone signal and automatically switches to phone setting. Aside from the mentioned features, the Starkey hearing aid also includes: personal style, self-checking capabilities, reminders and alerts, data logging, and simulated sound environments.
